What is Marmoleum Flooring

Marmoleum is a type of flooring used in homes and businesses. It's Forbo's version of linoleum. Made from wood flour, linseed oil, jute, and rosin, it is pressed and dried to form tiles or sheets. While it's been around for over a century, it's gaining popularity thanks to the green building movement. Marmoleum flooring is natural and adds a natural look to your space. It's also attractive and flexible.

Difference Between Marmoleum and Linoleum

Marmoleum is a brand of linoleum flooring, similar to Armstrong. Linoleum is strong and made from hardened linseed oil or linoxin, cork dust, pine rosin, wood flour, and minerals like calcium carbonate. Marmoleum offers more attractive color options and doesn't have reports of bad smells like some vinyl floors. Apart from colors, Marmoleum and linoleum are quite similar - the difference is mostly the brand name. See our linoleum flooring page for the broader category.
